What are cookies

The www.trial.it website makes use of cookies. As clarified by the Privacy Guarantor in the FAQ of December 2012, available at www.garanteprivacy.it, cookies are “small text files” – made up of letters and numbers – “that the sites visited by the user send to his terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites the next time the same user visits”. Cookies have the function of streamlining web traffic analysis or signalling when a specific site or part of a site is visited, distinguishing between visitors to provide personalised content, and helping administrators to improve the site and the user’s browsing experience.

Through cookies, we cannot access any other information stored on your device, even if that is where the cookies are downloaded. Cookies cannot load code of any kind, carry viruses or malware and are not harmful to your terminal equipment.

Below you can find all the information about the cookies installed through this site, and the necessary guidance on how to manage your preferences in this regard.

User Consent

The site only issues technical cookies and cookies for anonymous and aggregate statistical purposes that never identify the individual User. It is therefore not necessary to ask the User to give any consent.

What types of cookies do we use

The use of cookies by the Owner of this site, Trial S.r.l, located in San Giuliano Milanese (MI) at Via dei Mille n.3, is framed by the Privacy Policy of the same; for all the information required by art. 13 Privacy Code click here.

To enable the use of our site and the provision of our services, we make use of both so-called persistent cookies (i.e. cookies that remain in our memory until they are manually deleted by the user or for which a long-term scheduled removal is foreseen) and so-called session cookies, which are not persistently stored on the visitor’s computer and disappear when the browser is closed.

We use different types of cookies – with specific functions – which we can classify as follows

FIRST-PARTY COOKIES, I.E. ISSUED BY TRIAL.IT

WHAT DO COOKIES DO?

Technical/session

Technical/navigation

(The user’s consent is not required to issue this type of cookie) They are indispensable for the proper functioning of our site and allow the user to navigate and view content. Deactivating them would lead to the malfunctioning of the site.

Generally, cookies of this type are necessary, for example, to keep a browsing session open or to allow the user to access restricted areas. Or they may temporarily remember texts entered while filling in a form when returning to a previous page during the same session.

Technical/functionality cookies

(The user’s consent is not required to issue this type of cookie) They allow the user to make the most of the site’s features and enjoy more comfortable navigation. The site works ideally if these cookies are enabled; you can however decide not to allow their activation on your device.

In general, for example, cookies of this type remember in which language the user prefers to view our content or remember (for a limited period) the items in the virtual shopping cart if you close the session before completing your purchase.

THIRD-PARTY COOKIES, ISSUED BY SITES OTHER THAN TRIAL.IT

WHAT DO THESE COOKIES DO?

Statistical/analytics cookies configured with masking of User’s IP address

(No user consent is required to issue this type of cookie) They are used to collect information about how users navigate our site. This information is analysed in aggregate form for statistical purposes only.

They are not required but are of great help to us in allowing us to improve our content and services based on the information we get from analysing the statistics.

Third-Party Cookies

When browsing this site, you will receive both Trial S.r.l. cookies and cookies from third-party sites, which may set cookies on your device on our behalf to deliver the services they are providing.

Third-party cookies allow us to obtain more comprehensive surveys of your browsing habits. We use such cookies, for example, to collect information for advertising and content customisation purposes, as well as to compile statistics about the use of our site and to gauge your interest in our specific content or services. More detailed information about these cookies can be found in the following sections of this document and on the respective websites of the third parties in question.

Statistical cookies (third-party)

Trial.it uses Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway – Mountain View – CA94043 USA, which uses cookies to collect and analyse in aggregate form information about users’ browsing patterns. Neither Trial S.r.l. nor Google associate your IP address with any other data held by them that directly identifies you.

Moreover, to protect the privacy of its users as much as possible, Trial applies the “IP Masking” option that requires the system to anonymize the last 8 digits of the visitor’s IP address before any processing, thus rendering the analysed data anonymous.

The information collected is processed by the Google Analytics systems to produce reports for the Trial.it administrators, use it to verify the correct functioning of the services and possibly the popularity rate of the proposed contents.

If you would like more information on the policies applied by Google Inc. about data confidentiality, you can click here; to disable the statistical cookies, thus preventing Google Analytics from collecting data on your navigation, you can download the component for deactivating Google Analytics that you can find here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
